Barca or Baraq meaning thunderbolt in the Punic language. Did this quick drawing while listening to the "stuff you missed in history class" podcast http://history.howstuffworks.com/stuff-you-missed-in-history-class-podcast.htm. These two brothers are from Carthage and attacked Rome in 218 BC during the second Punic war. Hannibal famously lead elephants across the alps and his brother held Spain as he did this, and I think the thunderbolt brothers sounded too cool not to draw.

This is a poster I made for the short film "Heart of Rhyme" directed by Cory Bowles . this is actually the second iteration, the first being below. but after I finished I took a few elements out and found simpler worked more effectively, I think. Though I still like the one below, the above image seems to grab me more. It was a pleasant surprise but I couldn't help feeling a little down about having to travel all that way to find out walking back a little might have been the better move.

Walter Bishop is one of the best characters on television, with a great performance by John Noble.

I saw recently a trailer for the new 3-D/ live action Yogi Bear movie. Why I ask does 3D renderings of classic cartoon characters seem so charmless. They might of just knocked on my door and asked for 15 dollars because that would be less annoying.

It did spark an old idea I had that these movies should just be fully live action and just employ stars to ware foam costumes of said characters. I think it would be a lot more charming and you would at least get your moneys worth hiring stars so at least the audience can see were the money went. Hiring Justin Timberlake to totally mask his voice under an impression of BooBoo is like hiring Stephan Hawking to read your audio book.

So here's my version of Yogi bear movie starring Seth Rogan and Michael Sera. Directed by Judd Apatow.

He told a reporter he wanted his life back after 11 people died on his rig not to mention all the sea life that is now in mortal danger. If BP and Tony Howard are doing anything it's living up to the stereotype of an evil, soulless, oil company. If it we're up to me I'd convict him of high crimes and sentence him to receive one punch to the face by every american citizen on the fourth of July. It'll be a great way to celebrate Americas independence from Britain and Obama can throw the first punch proving to everyone he's angry enough. Win, win.

It's been some time since this project has been on the go but here's two rusty portraits from last night.

William Howard "Willie" Mays, Jr. Baseball legend. I don't know much about baseball but here is some interesting things from the interview. Apparently Mays would dream the night before a game about the catches he would make in the next days game. Which always came to pass. Also he claims he was such a good hitter because he could see the rotation of the ball as the pitch was coming toward him.

These two facts lead me to conclude that Willie Mays is a baseball playing Future-naught, from the future.

James Cameron director of the Avatar. During this interview it dawned on me that Cameron was suffering from George Lucas syndrome. Not because they both are making increasingly technologically forward movies with increasingly re-tarted character development.

But because both have increasingly graying, style hardened hair and both have increasingly re-tarted necks. I think Cameron was wearing a turtle neck during this interview but I can't be sure.

A city undone by aliens? Really I think I started thinking of the topic and what I could draw for it but ultimately was undone by my own skill level. I think I'm happy with about 2% of the painting( that hole in the ground looks ok) but the rest just unraveled while I was doing it and eventually came undone.

This Mad scientist is a little old fashioned. He's a chemist and frankly chemists are a little 1950's.
