The Killing Cumberbatch

A bit of Fan casting.
If they reboot the Bat-Man movies soon and plan to bring back the Joker I think Cumberbatch  would be a good fit for the role. He could bring the more dapper clown prince of crime from the comics to life while still maintaining a good amount of menace and whimsy.

Final Vinyl

Some painted vinyl records created for the Craig Galleries ( )  final Vinyl fundraiser. Artist contributed there work which all used records as a canvas.
Proceeds go to the Craig gallery in Alderney landing. If your in dartmouth check out the show and support the gallery.

These are Reveen the hypnotist records that apparently was meant to relax you. The album cover had "WARNING" scrawled across it. I couldn't bring myself to listen to it before painting them. I was afraid to fall under Reveen's spell

Scifi media blogfest "The Dead Zone"

Here is my entry to the Scar me Blogfest at the Scifi media blog

An illustration for the 1983 movie "The Dead Zone" based on the Stephen King novel of the same name.
The film is an early David Cronenburg movie and though it dosen't really have a lot of his signature motifs there is enough of his quiet deliberate style to see his unique stamp, which gives the film a haunting quality that really struck me when I watched it.
I think the character Johnny Smith (which seems ridiculously plain now that I type it) has a running loneliness thru the movie, perfectly played by Walken. So when he's thrust with this strange ability to see the future you really feel his isolation. On top of the great atmosphere created by Cronenburg is Stephan Kings supernatural creepy edge and the combination makes a great movie.
There's something so real and plain about the winter New England setting against the gruesomeness of some of the crimes in the film that makes it stand out to me, especially as a King adaption.
And Walken is at his creepy best.  Plus you get Martin Sheen as a craving religious zelot nutjob of a politician, which may seem fairly timely if your in the United States right now.

Boardwalk Empire Booze

Four characters from the great HBO show Boardwalk Empire. I had the idea while watching the show of illustrating some of the characters as ventriloquist dummy. Which then lead to "these should be on liquore bottles" and matching different liquors to different characters, which ended me up with a lot more work than I originally intended but here are the final results.

Its a great series with an incredible cast and characters. Check it out if you haven't yet, it really picks up and becomes great end of season1 and season 2

Which reminds me follow me on twitter @MircoChen

Vice president Joe Biden has a long face/head which I think would be the perfect mould for a wax candle
President Barack Obama 4 years on seems a lot older, that presidency really ages a person.

DNC convention

An odd Bill Clinton sketch which lead me to the idea that Bill would make a great Splitting Image puppet. Also he delivered a hell of a speech.
Elizabeth Warren, law professor and candidate for senate of Massachusetts, seems decent and genuinely good person. I hope politics doesn't ruin her
