APRIL is the cruellest month

breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land
mixing
Memory and desire,
stirring
Dull roots with spring rain.
Winter kept us warm, covering 5
Earth in forgetful snow

T.S. Eliot (1888–1965). The Waste Land. 1922.

Feeble and fickle is the heart of audience. keep them warm and full the will be amused. A lesser known dictum from notes of Vitruvius
